Meet Jean-Louis & Patricia
Jean-Louis de Biasi

Co-founder of Mediterranean Yoga · Published Author · Philosopher · Yoga Teacher
Jean-Louis de Biasi brings together decades of personal practice, philosophical study, and teaching. A certified yoga teacher with a master’s degree in philosophy, he is a published author whose work explores the relationship between ancient wisdom and contemporary life.
Mindfulness is central to his approach: cultivating presence, developing self-awareness, and bringing greater balance to everyday experience. Through Mediterranean Yoga, he shares practical ways to connect body, mind, and spirit while encouraging individual discovery.
A Lifetime of Practice and Exploration
From the 1970s through the 1990s, Jean-Louis devoted himself to the study and practice of pranayama, Yoga Nidra, creative visualization, and energy work. He subsequently taught these disciplines and discussed them in radio interviews. His exploration also included hypnotism and dream interpretation, deepening his interest in imagination, consciousness, and inner experience.
Meditation formed an essential foundation for this work. His training included initiation into meditation practices within Chan Buddhism, alongside an ongoing exploration of mindfulness. These experiences enriched his understanding of attention, contemplation, and the ways inner practices are approached in Eastern and Western traditions.
Bringing Mediterranean Wisdom to Life
Over time, Jean-Louis increasingly focused on the philosophical and spiritual heritage of the Mediterranean world. Drawing on his experience of Eastern practices, he sought to illuminate the practical dimensions of ancient Western teachings and make them accessible to contemporary students.
This work has found expression in more than twenty books published in French and English, including titles from Llewellyn Publications, with several translated into other languages. His writing explores philosophy, spirituality, meditation, and the possibilities of personal transformation.
As co-founder of Mediterranean Yoga, he brings these interests together in a comprehensive approach to practice. His teaching invites students to explore, reflect, and develop their abilities through direct experience, integrating what they learn into their relationships, choices, and daily lives.
Qualifications and International Recognition
Jean-Louis holds a master’s degree in philosophy and the Yoga Alliance designations E-RYT 500 (Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher) and YACEP (Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider).
In 2023, the International Yoga Federation awarded him the titles of “International Registered Yoga Teacher” and “International Continuing Yoga Education Provider.” That same year, Mediterranean Yoga – Aurum Solis received recognition as an official yoga school from the Federation.

Mindfulness is central to her teaching. She encourages students to connect with the present moment, recognize their needs, and cultivate greater balance in everyday life. Her personal and professional experiences have shaped a compassionate approach that respects each person’s pace and possibilities.
A Background in Precision and Care
Originally from France, Patricia trained in gemology and worked for several years in the field, developing specialist knowledge of gemstones and crystals. This background cultivated her attention to detail and appreciation of the natural world.
She later worked for fourteen years as a surgical assistant. This experience deepened her knowledge of human anatomy and physiology while strengthening her sensitivity to the needs of people facing physical challenges. Care, observation, and empathy remain important qualities in her teaching.
A Personal Path to Yoga
After moving to North America, Patricia broadened her exploration of Eastern and Western spiritual traditions. A period of serious health challenges led her to return to yoga, which became an important support during her recovery.
Through sustained practice, she explored several styles of yoga and developed a deeper understanding of movement, breathing, and body awareness. This personal journey eventually led her to become a certified yoga teacher and to share these practices with others.
An Attentive Approach to Teaching
