IFIO LLC is responsible for the processing described in this policy and is the data controller where that term applies under data protection law.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information relevant to your interactions with us.

Contact information and correspondence

When you contact us, we collect the information you provide, such as your name, email address, telephone number, and message.

Newsletter information

When you subscribe, we collect your email address and any optional information you provide, such as your name, preferred language, and subscription preferences.

Accounts, courses, and registrations

When you create an account or register for a service, we collect the information needed to administer your account and participation. This may include contact details, registrations, access rights, course progress, and relevant completion or certification records.

Purchases and payments

We collect order, billing, and transaction information necessary to administer purchases, confirm payments, deliver services, and manage refunds.

Technical and usage information

Our website and its providers collect technical information such as browser and device details, IP addresses where processed by the relevant service, access times, security logs, and cookie identifiers.

When analytics is enabled in accordance with your consent choices, Google Analytics collects information about website usage, such as pages viewed, interactions, and device characteristics.

Required fields are identified on our forms. Without information necessary to fulfill a request or provide a service, we may be unable to do so. Optional fields may be left blank.

3. How We Use Information

We use personal information to:

  • Answer questions and provide assistance.

  • Manage accounts and access to educational resources.

  • Administer courses, registrations, purchases, and refunds.

  • Deliver services and maintain relevant learning records.

  • Send confirmations, access instructions, and other service-related messages.

  • Send newsletters and announcements you have subscribed to receive.

  • Understand website usage and improve its content and performance.

  • Protect our website, prevent misuse, and investigate security incidents.

  • Meet legal obligations and establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

We do not automatically subscribe you to our newsletter when you contact us or purchase a service.

4. Legal Grounds for Processing

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on:

  • Performance of a contract, or steps you request before entering into a contract, to manage purchases, registrations, and service delivery.

  • Consent to send newsletters and use optional tracking technologies where required.

  • Legitimate interests in answering general inquiries, administering our business, maintaining security, and addressing legal claims, provided those interests do not override your rights.

  • Legal obligations requiring us to maintain records or disclose information.

You may withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect processing lawfully carried out before that withdrawal.

5. Newsletters

We use Brevo, formerly Sendinblue, to manage subscriptions and send newsletters.

Although the newsletter service operates separately from our website, Brevo processes the contact information and preferences you provide when subscribing, together with technical information necessary to deliver emails and manage subscriptions.

We do not use Brevo’s email-open or link-click tracking features.

You may unsubscribe using the link in each newsletter or by contacting contact-ma@mediterraneanyoga.org.

Unsubscribing from marketing does not prevent us from sending messages necessary to administer a service you requested, such as registration confirmations or important schedule changes.

6. Payments

We use PayPal and Stripe to process payments.

Payment information is handled through the relevant provider. We receive transaction information needed to confirm purchases, provide services, maintain records, and handle refunds or disputes.

Please do not send payment-card details through our contact forms or by email.

Payment providers also process information for purposes such as fraud prevention and compliance with financial regulations. Their privacy notices explain those activities:

7. Health and Other Sensitive Information

Please do not submit medical records or detailed health information through our general contact or newsletter forms.

If an adapted program requires health or accessibility information, we will provide a separate notice explaining what is needed, why it is needed, who can access it, and how long it will be retained.

We will establish the necessary legal grounds and obtain separate explicit consent where required. Subscribing to a newsletter or accepting general terms does not constitute explicit consent to health-data processing.

8. Service Providers and Other Recipients

We use the following providers:

  • Wix: website hosting and the website features we enable, including forms, accounts, and course services.

  • Google Analytics: website audience measurement and analysis, subject to applicable consent requirements.

  • PayPal and Stripe: payment processing and related transaction services.

  • Brevo: newsletter subscriptions and email delivery.

Relevant privacy information is available from:

Information may also be accessed by authorized personnel, instructors, and providers of business communications or administrative services where necessary for their responsibilities.

We may disclose relevant information to professional advisers or competent authorities where necessary to comply with law or establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

Providers processing information on our behalf are subject to applicable contractual requirements. Some providers also act independently for purposes described in their own privacy notices.

9. International Processing

IFIO LLC is a US company serving an international audience. Personal information may be processed in the United States and other countries where our authorized personnel and service providers operate.

These countries may have different data protection laws from those in your country.

Where applicable law requires safeguards for international transfers, the relevant transfer must be covered by a recognized legal mechanism. Depending on the provider and destination, this may include an adequacy decision, approved Standard Contractual Clauses, or another legally permitted arrangement.

Our providers describe their international processing and safeguards in their privacy notices and data-processing terms. These arrangements do not imply that IFIO LLC itself holds any provider’s certification.

You may contact us for information about the safeguards applicable to your personal information and how to obtain relevant documentation.

10. Retention of Information

We retain personal information for the period necessary for its purpose, taking account of legal obligations and relevant limitation periods.

We determine retention as follows:

  • Inquiries and correspondence: for the time needed to resolve the matter and complete directly related follow-up. Correspondence forming part of a purchase, complaint, or dispute is retained with the relevant records.

  • Newsletter information: while your subscription remains active. After you unsubscribe, we retain only information necessary to respect your choice and document compliance.

  • Account and course information: while necessary to provide your account, purchased access, and associated support. Following closure, we retain only records needed for outstanding obligations, legal requirements, or claims.

  • Certification records: for as long as necessary to verify a qualification we have issued, limited to the information needed for that purpose.

  • Transaction and accounting records: for the periods required by applicable tax and accounting laws and, where necessary, to address refunds, disputes, or legal claims.

  • Security information: for the period necessary to detect and investigate misuse or incidents.

  • Analytics and cookie information: according to the retention settings of the relevant service and the duration of the technology concerned.

  • Health information: according to the separate notice for the relevant program.

We review retained information and delete or irreversibly anonymize it when it is no longer needed. Information awaiting removal from backups remains protected and is removed through the applicable backup cycle.

11. Cookies and Google Analytics

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies.

Strictly necessary technologies support functions such as security, authentication, and services you request.

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors interact with the website and improve its content and usability. Where required by law, analytics tracking is activated only after you consent.

You may accept or reject optional cookies through the website’s cookie controls and change your preferences through its cookie-settings function. Refusing optional cookies does not prevent access to the basic website.

Information about the cookies detected on the website, their purposes, and durations is available through the cookie-consent interface.

You can also manage cookies through your browser. Blocking necessary cookies may affect account access, checkout, or other requested functions.

12. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information, including encrypted website connections and restrictions on access.

No online service or storage system can guarantee complete security.

If a personal data breach occurs, we will investigate, take appropriate action, and notify the relevant authorities and affected individuals where required by law.

Please keep your account password confidential and contact us if you suspect unauthorized access.

13. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on applicable law, you may have the right to:

  • Access personal information we hold about you.

  • Request correction or deletion.

  • Request restriction of processing.

  • Receive certain information in a portable format.

  • Object to processing based on legitimate interests.

  • Object to direct marketing or withdraw consent.

  • Opt out of certain sales, sharing, targeted advertising, or profiling where such rights apply.

  • Appeal a refusal of a privacy request where applicable law provides that right.

To exercise your rights, email contact-ma@mediterraneanyoga.org, call +1 702-931-5071, or write to the address below.

Where permitted by law, an authorized representative may act on your behalf. We may request proportionate information to verify your identity or the representative’s authority.

We respond within the period required by applicable law. For requests governed by the GDPR, this is normally one month. Where legally justified, we may extend that period by two further months and explain the extension within the first month.

Some requests are subject to legal exceptions. For example, we may need to retain information required by law or necessary for legal claims. If we cannot fulfill a request, we will explain why.

We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.

You may complain to the competent privacy regulator. Where the GDPR applies, this includes the supervisory authority in your country of habitual residence, workplace, or the alleged infringement. In France, this is the CNIL.

14. Children’s Privacy

Our online accounts, registrations, and purchasing services are intended for adults aged 18 and over.

We do not knowingly collect children’s personal information through these services. If you believe a child has provided information, please contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

Any future services specifically intended for minors will have appropriate privacy information and arrangements.

15. External Websites and Social Media

Our website may link to social networks, booksellers, and other external services. Their privacy notices apply when you use those services.

Embedded third-party content may process technical information. Where consent is legally required, tracking associated with that content is subject to your consent choices.

16. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in our services, practices, or legal obligations. The current version and its update date will appear on this page.

We will provide additional notice of material changes and obtain fresh consent where required.
